With all of the free information being broadcasted across the world, as an American people we still haven't come to truth about weight loss. In fact many lies are perpetuated and stand in the way of many which keeps them unhealthy. The following are lies we tell ourselves about weight loss.
When you think you just have too little will power when you eat that extra helping because you want it more than to lose weight, you're right... and you're wrong. You're right about wanting it more in that instant, if you didn't you wouldn't have eaten the extra helping. You're wrong when you blame your weakness on poor will power, you tell yourself that you are mentally weak, not only is this mentally unhealthy but it causes you to become physically unhealthy as well. You look at a healthy peer, and you may say to yourself, this person has a lot of will power to avoid snacks and extra helpings at meal time. Where you err in this thinkin, is that many of those that are living healthy life styles love it. They don't look at the brownie the same way you do, they look forward to their next workout, they love fruits and vegatables. Over eating many times literally sickens them. The truth is that it takes them little to no will power to be healthy, in fact with many it would take will power to eat unhealthy or lasily sit around. So next time you want to blame your weakness on a lack of will power, mentally SLAP yourself in the face. You are no longer allowed to tell this lie to yourself.
So how did some get to be so lucky to love living a healthy life style, while you were so unlucky? That's hard to tell, but one thing is for certain, we are where we are today because of the steps we took to arrive here. You have the ability to become one of those lucky people, a person that loves living a healthy lifestyle. We get into great detail of how to acheive this attitude.
It's not a typo, we meant to put Fast Fast in the title. The first fast is means arriving at your weightloss goal quickly, while the second fast means to severely limit or go without food for an extended period of time. When we decide to buy into this lie, we you usually end up with more than we bargained, all the weight we lose plus 5 pounds. The problem with this dieting technique is it doesn't work, because our bodies are amazingly built to survive. When you substitute your diet with a low calorie intake (usually 1000 calories or less) your body gets the signal that you are starving. Instead of depleting all of your body's resources quickly, your body starts shutting down different functions of your body. Because your body needs more calories to keep you alive it utilizes calorie reserves, but instead of using fat your body uses a quicker calorie resource, muscle.
You've just indulged yourself in two weeks of food and deserts, its now the New Years and you have a new resolution: to lose weight. Your not alone with this resolution, nearly half of Americans make it there goal to lose weight on New Year's. In fact out of the top three resolutions made in 2008, the second was to Lose weight and the third was to develop a healthy habit (source). Gyms are flooded, pills and other weight loss products are purchased and vows are made. After sitting around and overeating for two weeks, we think that we can just quit being unhealthy cold juicy turkey. Millions under a single goal, but very few succeed. Why do so many fail? Most will tell you that it was a lack of will power because they didn't keep to their plan, but you know better now.
